How to Save Your Classroom Webpage Content

As we near the end of the school year, we want to remind you that the district will be changing the service provider for our classroom webpages. On July 1, 2009, we will welcome SharpSchool as our new web hosting service provider.

To ensure that you keep the content and resources you used when creating your current SchoolFusion classroom pages, we are providing instructions for saving your resources. That way you will have everything you need to setup your new classroom pages when we return in August.

First, save your classroom webpage’s Internet links by…

Windows Computers

Macintosh Computers

  • from your classroom webpage, click on “File” on the menu bar and select “Save As…”.
 
  • In the “Save Webpage” window, select “Webpage,complete (*.htm;*.html)” from the “Save as type:” dropdown list.
 
  • Save your classroom webpage on your computer’s hard drive in the location of your choice.
 
  • from your classroom webpage, click on “File” on the menu bar and select “Save As…”.
 
  • In the dialog box that appears, select “Web Archive” from the “Format:” dropdown list.
 
  • Save your classroom webpage on your computer’s hard drive in the location of your choice.
To access the Internet links you have on your classroom webpage, open the file you saved on your hard drive. You can then click on the links on your page to visit sites on the Internet.
 
Then, save your classroom webpage’s images and files by…
  • from the classroom page, click on the link labeled “Update Class Configuration" (or "Update Section Configuration") in the upper right hand corner.
  • On the bottom center of the configuration page under the section labeled “Copy Class Website” (or "Copy Section Website"), click the link next to “Export:” that reads "Click here to use the content in this class (or section) website in another class (or section)."
  • You can choose to export all content, or specify which content you would like exported. Click the “Export to a Zip file >>” button, this will create a zip file that should be saved directly to the location of your choice on your hard drive.
When the zip file is finished being prepared, "Export Complete" will be displayed. Use the link indicated to download a zip file containing the class (or section) content you selected. This content will contain all images and files that were posted on your classroom page in a compressed file to save space.
