PepsiCo & KaBOOM Partnering to Build Playgrounds

As part of its initiative to help build stronger families, PepsiCo is partnering with KaBoom, a national nonprofit organization that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America, to build Smart Spot playgrounds in low-income neighborhoods throughout the U.S. Not coincidentally, PepsiCo has developed, and continues to reformulate and add to, its line of Smart Spot products-products that meet nutrition criteria based on authoritative statements from the FDA and the National Academy of Sciences. (Tools for living healthier are on PepsiCo’s Smart Spot Web site at http://www.smartspot.com.)

Grant Tip of the Month

Be careful with your budget. Funders want to see that you handle your money wisely; it will give them confidence that you are going to put your grant money to good use. Don’t gloss over details or provide summaries where exact figures are requested. While creativity often is rewarded, this is one area where you want to be as plain and simple as possible. Be sure to stick to the facts, check your work, and organize your data in the way the funder requires when putting your finances together for your application.
