Houstonville's City Council Houstonville's Mayor: Tracy
Houstonville's City Council consists
of the Mayor of Houstonville, the Mayor Protem, and other community members.
They gather together for meetings to discuss the "city" and how to make
the city of Houstonville a more productive city. If there are any
problems or situation that arise, this council brainstorms ideas to resolve
the problem and follow through with their solutions. The mayor is
elected from the student body once a year in May and is then voted into
term by the 2nd-4th graders. The mayor must be a 5th grader with
passing grades and excellent behavior. The mayor must show those
leadership skills necessary to act as Mayor of a city. With the help
of the Mayor, Mayor Protem, and other city council members, Houstonville
has become an organized city based on its lifeskills. Lifeskills
are a vital part of Houstonville. These lifeskills involve Integrity,
Responsibility, Cooperation, Caring, Effort, Creativity, Respect, Problem
Solving, Friendship, Patience, and Honesty. Students learn these
lifeskills and know the value and role these skills have on every day life.
