Previously, Sam Houston Elementary was located at 1001 S. 16th Street for
approximately 50 years, where STCC Downtown is now. The school is
situated on 9.5 acres. This facility of approximately 58,000 square

a lab, a content mastery classroom, two reading recovery classrooms, two

The name of the school
is taken from Sam Houston (1793-1863) who fought for what he believed.
