Sam Houston Library is run by librarian, B. Jackson, and a full time clerk, E. Pastor. We serve a staff of about 55 and a student body of about 665. We have flexible scheduling where classes sign up as needed to do research, check out books, test on the Accelerated Reading program, story time, or receive lessons from the librarian. The library currently holds 9, 457 books and software. We subscribe to one local newspaper and 20 periodicals. We are also members of the Texas Library Connection. Monthly circulation averages to 3,153 books and software. Technology is also an important aspect at our school. The library has five computers and one network printer. Each classroom has between three to four computers and one printer per classroom. The library is open from 7:45-4:00 every day. Students, parents, staff, and community members are always welcomed.
