Houstonville's photography
shop is a department in which students learn how to take pictures using
a digital camera and then create frames for these pictures. Students
then sell these frames for
Cougar
Cash. Students learn many mathematical skills using this camera
while having fun. They learn about proportion as they position
people accordingly to size and are able to focus or zoom on areas that
are important. Once pictures are printed, students can crop what
is necessary for the customer to be satisfied. They then create
frames using color and texture varieties to see what frame is best to
go with the picture itself. The photo shop also creates back drops
for different seasons or holidays and pictures of students are taken in
front of these backdrops. The photo shop sells these pictures to
the students and they are kept with a reminder of that special moment.
The photo shop also takes pictures upon request of special events.
