Sam Houston's vision is to create and maintain a teaching and learning environment in which all students and teachers will be able to utilize technology as a tool for learning. Teachers will be able to integrate technology into the curriculum. With the TIF Grant, we received 33 new computers, two scanners, three digital cameras, one notebook projector, one laptop computer, one digital video camera, and one network printer. This has provided opportunities for all students and staff to become up to date with today's ever growing technology. These 33 new computers were placed in the teachers' classroom for student access. All classrooms are now equipped with three to four computers all connected to the Internet and one printer. Students will be able to use any of the resources presented by the TIF Grant to use to produce projects, to receive information, to communicate with other schools, etc. The possibilities are endless.
The TIF Tech Team has attended several training sessions. They have attended a Foundations Training, Policy & Leadership Training, Curriculum & Instruction Training, Technical Training, and a Foundations Training II.
