TAKING MEDICINE AT SCHOOL
1.) Medicine must be in the original container.
2.) All medicince will be kept in the clinic and administered by the nurse or her designee.
3.) A signed and dated parent note with the student's name, medication name, the time and the amount to be given must accompany the medicine.
4.) For prescription medications, i.e. Ritalin, a current prescription date is required for each refill.
5.) Medications from Mexico are discouraged, but if brought to school, they must be accompanied by a letter from the prescribing physician.
6.) Medications prescribed once, twice, or three times daily should be given at home (before, at 3;30, and at bedtime) to avoid excessive medication administration in the school setting.
DISMISSAL BECAUSE OF ILLNESS
Should it be necessary to send your child home at any time, or if your child beccomes ill, the school will call home first. Please be sure the school has a phone number ofr you and an emergency phone number if we are unable to reach you. No child should leave the school grounds without signing out in the office by a parent or guardian.
Your child will be sent home for the following reasons:
If your child has any of these symptoms before coming to school, please keep him/her home and notify the office.
